LAUSD School Board voted to change New LA and CLIC charter documents / approving material revisions to allow New LA to become the parent charter management organization (CMO) for CLIC.

CLIC held a Town Hall on February 23 via Zoom, dedicated to a discussion about the future of CLIC and the proposed partnership with New Los Angeles Charter Schools. Please see highlights from the Town Hall.

CLIC and New LA Charter School (Middle School) submitted formal requests to LAUSD School Board to allow the schools to form a partnership.

New LA Board voted to submit requests to LAUSD Board to ask for changes to New Los Angeles Schools, to acknowledge CLIC, to offer TCS students a one time admissions preference to New Los Angeles Charter School (Middle School) for the 2023-2024 school year; and to offer CLIC students admission preferences as they graduate 5th grade, thereby offering a clear and stable and K-8 pathway for CLIC students.

City Charter Schools held a special virtual Board of Directors meeting and opportunity for public comment. This meeting included a Board vote on the proposed closure of The City School, and votes to submit a request to LAUSD Board that will add CLIC to New Los Angeles Schools' management organization.
