Enrichment and Electives

Students at CLIC have daily Physical Education (P.E.), and weekly classes for visual art and music. CLIC also has an active learning garden and incorporates weekly gardening classes. Enrichments are for all students.

Outdoor Ed

Outdoor Education is an essential part of the New LA Experience. In 4th and 5th grade, students embark on immersive outdoor trips designed to enrich their learning experience beyond the classroom. These trips are carefully crafted to foster teamwork, leadership skills, environmental stewardship, and a deeper appreciation for the natural world. Our outdoor education curriculum integrates hands-on learning opportunities, empowering students to connect with nature, explore new environments, and challenge themselves in unique settings. Through these unforgettable experiences, students develop resilience, confidence, and a lifelong love for outdoor exploration.

4th grade – Students research the California desert ecosystem and visit the Living Desert in and take a guided hike at Indian Canyons in Palm Springs.

5th grade – Students participate in an overnight camping experience where they learn about the local ecosystem and engage in team building activities.

After School Program

We partner with Think Together to provide free after school programming every day. The after school program includes academic enrichment, outdoor play and arts and crafts. Students in the after school program are supervised from the moment school dismisses until 6:00PM. They are provided with an after school snack.
