Involvement Opportunities

Hello and welcome to the New LA Charter Schools!

At New LA Charter Schools we believe that students can reach their full potential when there is a high level of involvement by families. We encourage involvement in a partnership between home and school built on mutual respect. Our school communities recognize that families engage in many different ways, and every level of involvement is valued and truly makes a difference. Whether you are able to join a group like our Class Ambassadors, participate in a committee such as ELAC (English Language Advisory Committee) or PAC (Parent Advisory Council), attend/volunteer at school events, or support learning from home, your partnership strengthens our collective efforts and enhances the experience for all students.

It’s my pleasure to work collaboratively with families, teachers and school administrators to enhance communication, engagement, and success to help promote a positive school community. Our school teams look forward to connecting with you and providing support for your family throughout your child’s educational journey.

If you are interested in getting involved or would like to learn more about how to engage as an active parent or caregiver, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or your school site’s Principal.

In partnership,

Tanya Castro

Class Ambassadors

Classroom Ambassadors are parent/caregiver volunteers who serve as liaisons between teachers, school administration, and the Family Engagement Committee. We welcome up to 4 Ambassadors per classroom to work as a team and provide consistent support during the school year. In collaboration with school staff, Class Ambassadors help build a strong school community by:

> Supporting communication between families, teachers, and administration
> Organizing class and school-wide events for students and families throughout the year
> Support with school fundraising efforts and other school initiatives and campaigns
> Commit to active involvement throughout the year

This is a yearlong time commitment and a meaningful opportunity to engage in leadership, build community, and strengthen the home-school connection.
