Prospective families can apply at any time during open enrollment. Open houses will provide additional information and the opportunity to submit their child’s application for New LA Elementary School.
New Los Angeles Charter Elementary School admits all pupils who wish to attend up to capacity. No test or assessment shall be administered to students prior to acceptance and enrollment into the school. There are no requirements for enrollment. New LA does not charge students tuition and does not discriminate against any student on the basis of ethnicity, national origin, gender or disability. New LA Elementary ensures that the unique needs of students with disabilities are met in order to give students with disabilities access to the same educational programs and/or activities that are available to their nondisabled peers. All applicants must be entering TK, K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th grade in August 2027.
How to Apply and Enrollment Dates
All applications are submitted through SchoolMint via newlosangelescharterschools.schoolmint.net Prospective students can apply at any time during open enrollment and open houses will provide additional information and support to apply.
Enrollment Lottery Window: September 1, 2026 – January 16, 2027
The enrollment lottery application window opens on Schoolmint on September 1, 2026. Applications can be submitted for the lottery at any time during this window, just follow these steps:
- Step 1: Go to newlosangelescharterschools.schoolmint.net and create an account if you don’t already have one.
- Step 2: Select New Los Angeles Elementary School. You should receive confirmation from Schoolmint that your application was received.
- Step 3: Check back in at any time to monitor the status of your application, or withdraw an application, and accept offers.
Note: If you are not able to access the application by computer or mobile device, you can also apply by phone by calling our school at 323-556-9500.
Friday, January 22, 2027 – Application Deadline
Applications must be submitted via Schoolmint by 11:59pm on January 22, 2027 to be included in the 2027-2028 enrollment lottery. Late applications are automatically added to the waitlist in the order they are submitted.
Friday, January 29, 2027 – Admission Lottery
If the number of students applying for admission exceeds openings available, enrollment is determined by a public random drawing. Students who applied by the deadline will be included in the lottery. Enrollment preference will be extended to siblings of enrolled New LA students, children of board members, founders, teachers, and staff.
If you submit an application after our admission lottery takes place and there are no spaces available, your child’s name will be added to a waitlist. We will admit students from the waitlist after the lottery, as spots become available and in the order in which we received applications.
Admissions Notification
Families of all accepted students will receive an automatic notification. You must ACCEPT the enrollment offer within three days from receiving the offer, that you intend to enroll your child to secure their spot and begin the registration process.
January 29, 2027 to September 2027: Students Admitted from the Waitlist
Students on the waitlist are notified automatically via the Schoolmint system when a space becomes available.

Viernes 22 de enero de 2027 – Fecha límite de Solicitud
Las solicitudes deben enviarse a través de SchoolMint antes de las 11:59 p. m. del 22 de enero para ser incluidas en la lotería de 2027-2028. Las solicitudes tardías se agregan automáticamente a la lista de espera en el orden en que se envían.
Viernes 29 de enero de 2027 – Lotería de Admisión
Si el número de estudiantes que solicitan admisión excede las vacantes disponibles, la inscripción se determina mediante un sorteo público al azar. Los estudiantes que presentaron su solicitud antes de la fecha límite serán incluidos en la lotería. La preferencia de inscripción se extenderá a los hermanos de estudiantes matriculados en New LA, hijos de miembros de la junta, fundadores, maestros y personal.
Si envía una solicitud después del 22 de enero de 2027 y no hay espacios disponibles, el nombre de su hijo/a se agregará a una lista de espera. Admitiremos estudiantes de la lista de espera después de la lotería, a medida que haya lugares disponibles y en el orden en que recibimos las solicitudes.
Notificación de Admisión
Las familias de todos los estudiantes aceptados recibirán una notificación automática. Debe confirmar dentro de tres días que tiene la intención de inscribir a su hijo/a para asegurar su lugar.
New Los Angeles Elementary admite a todos los alumnos que deseen asistir, hasta completar su capacidad. No se realizará ningún examen ni evaluación a los alumnos antes de su admisión e inscripción. No hay requisitos de inscripción. New LA no cobra matrícula ni discrimina a ningún alumno por motivos de etnia, nacionalidad, género o discapacidad. La Escuela Primaria New LA se asegura de atender las necesidades específicas de los alumnos con discapacidad para que tengan acceso a los mismos programas y actividades educativas disponibles para sus compañeros sin discapacidad. Todos los solicitantes deben ingresar a TK, K, 1.º, 2.º, 3.º, 4.º o 5.º grado en agosto de 2027.
